About Us
The Lohia Group is a conglomerate based in Guwahati, with business interests in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Delhi, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa. The Lohia Group started as M/s Bajrang Steel Sales Corporation in 1981 and now consists of close to fifty different companies. The saga of the groups’ four-decade ascent is inseparable from the evolving dynamics of NER’s economic progress.
Today the Lohia Group of Companies controls several assets across various sectors from steel, cement, AAC blocks, ferro-alloys, GP/GC sheets, low ash met coke, textiles, food processing, kraft paper and oxygen bottling. It is the sole distributor and authorised stockist in the NER for TATA GP/GC sheets and dealer/distributor for various other steel manufacturers. In recent years the group has expanded its interest to venture into the education, real estate, retailing of furniture, fittings, marble, tiles, lifestyle sanitary and interior products sectors. Subham, a unit of Lohia Group is a leading real estate firm in the North Eastern region. The Lohia Group of Companies is also the pioneer of the lifestyle retail segment having introduced Sohum Shoppe, the largest lifestyle chain stores in North Eastern India.
